Project description

This project increased the capacity for sterile filtration and filling of various products at the Bern site. For this purpose, eight new filtration lines with two filters each were installed in an existing building above the filling plant.
Due to the limited space available in the cleanrooms, most components, with the exception of the filter housings, were installed in an adjacent technical zone. This also took account of the concept of reducing to a minimum the amount of cleanroom-compatible plant technology to be installed in the cleanroom.
All filtration lines can be cleaned inline by means of CIP and incl. filters are sterilized by means of pure steam. Cleaning is performed by means of two dedicated so-called CIP satellites in which the cleaning and rinsing solutions are provided.
In order to meet the high demands of the existing building structure, TTSol has developed, among other things, an innovative pump and cleaning concept.

The planning and construction of these plants posed great challenges in terms of process technology and spatial coordination. TTSol was entrusted with the project as a partner familiar with the localities and conditions. Our integrated approach also proved to be a significant added value for the customer in this project.
The plant technology was successfully planned and implemented in accordance with the high demands of architecture and coordination and the high GMP requirements.
